Director at your client's company

“I'll be honest, I'm frustrated. The numbers were wrong again, and my team put them in front of the board.”

You said

“

Client: I'll be honest, I'm frustrated. The numbers were wrong again, and my team put them in front of the board. You said: I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry about this. It won't happen again, I promise. Vague answer. What happened: You offered a vague promise instead of explaining the specific fix or the process change you implemented to prevent the data feed error from recurring. Stronger version: I understand the impact this had on your board presentation. We identified a broken data feed as the cause and fixed it this morning. I am now implementing a manual verification step.

“You saw the risk two weeks ago. Why am I only hearing about it now?”

Before

“Because I thought the platform team was going to handle it.”

Now

“I should have escalated the dependency two weeks ago. The new date is the 24th, and you’ll hear risks from me first.”

Better

Questions

Something else? Write to us.

Who is Clara for?

Intermediate-to-advanced non-native professionals who already know English but want to communicate more naturally and confidently at work.

Is Clara an English course?

No. Clara is workplace conversation practice. There are no grammar lessons or vocabulary units.

Can I practice a conversation I actually have coming up?

Yes. Choose “Prepare for my conversation”, describe what’s coming up in a few sentences, and Clara sets up a rehearsal for it. You can say who it’s with and how tough they should be.

How does replay work?

After each conversation Clara picks the moment that weakened your answer and quotes what you said. You go back to that exact point, the other person asks again in different words, and you answer again. Clara tells you whether the second try was better.

How much does Clara cost?

Your first 3 conversations are free, each with a debrief and replay, and you don’t need a card. After that, a plan is $12.99/month or $79.99/year, and you can cancel any time.
