Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Clara and of the Workplace English Lab services connected to it, including our automated Instagram and Facebook conversations.

Effective date: 4 October 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By using Clara, creating a Clara account, or interacting with the Workplace English Lab automation on Instagram or Facebook, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

If you are using Clara on behalf of an employer or another organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for them.

2. What the service is

Clara, operated by Workplace English Lab, is a coaching service for workplace communication in English. It provides a diagnostic, a guided programme of lessons, written and spoken practice, feedback on your responses, and reference material you can save.

Workplace English Lab also operates an automation on its Instagram and Facebook accounts. When you leave a specified comment or send a message, the automation may reply publicly or by private message and continue the conversation you started.

3. Permitted use

You may use Clara for your own personal or professional development. You may use the material the service produces for you — feedback, drafts, saved phrases — in your own work.

Your account is for you. Do not share your credentials, and do not give other people access to paid material through your account.

4. Prohibited use

You must not:

  • use the service for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate anyone
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts, or the systems behind them
  • probe, scan, overload, or otherwise interfere with the service or its infrastructure
  • scrape, bulk-extract, resell, or redistribute the service's content or automate access to it without our written permission
  • abuse the Instagram or Facebook automation, including sending automated, bulk, or spam interactions to trigger it
  • submit content you do not have the right to submit, or content that is unlawful or infringing

We may suspend or remove access where we reasonably believe these terms are being broken.

5. AI-generated coaching and content

Clara’s lessons, feedback, examples, and conversational replies — including replies sent by the Instagram and Facebook automation — are produced with the help of automated systems and AI models. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your particular situation.

The service is educational. It is not legal, HR, medical, financial, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional or from your employer. Decisions you make about a real workplace situation are your own, and you should use your own judgement before acting on anything the service produces.

6. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for keeping your password confidential, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at contact@workplaceenglishlab.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, and the service is not intended for children.

7. Plans, billing and cancellation

Clara is free for your first 3 complete conversations, with no card needed. After that, continuing needs a Pro plan: Monthly at $12.99/month or Annual at $79.99/year. Prices are in US dollars. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout, including any tax that applies where you are, before you confirm.

Pro renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. The renewal price is shown before you buy.

How to cancel. You can cancel at any time. If you bought in the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store’s subscription settings. If you bought on the web, use the manage link in your payment receipt email, or write to contact@workplaceenglishlab.com and we will cancel it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.

Refunds. Purchases made in the Apple App Store or Google Play are refunded by that store under its own policy, so ask the store. For purchases made on the web, write to contact@workplaceenglishlab.com and we will review your request. These terms do not limit any refund or cancellation right you have under the law where you live.

Lifetime access is no longer sold. If you bought it earlier, your access is unchanged.

8. Intellectual property

Clara, the Workplace English Lab name, the curriculum, lesson content, reference material, and the software behind the service are owned by Workplace English Lab or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. Access to the service does not transfer ownership of any of it.

You keep ownership of what you submit — your practice responses, your written drafts, and your messages. You grant us the permission we need to process that content in order to run the service for you, including generating feedback and storing your progress, as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Third-party services, including Meta

The service depends on third parties, including Meta’s Instagram and Facebook platforms, hosting and database providers, speech and language processing providers, an email provider, and a payment provider.

Your use of Instagram and Facebook is governed by Meta’s terms and policies, not ours. We do not control those platforms, and platform changes, outages, or enforcement actions may limit or stop the automation without notice. Removing our integration from your Meta account settings will stop future access.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, outages, or third-party failures.

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update these terms. Where a change is material, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Workplace English Lab excludes all warranties that are not expressly stated in these terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Workplace English Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and may ask us to delete your account and data — see User Data Deletion.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, limitation of liability, and these general terms — continue to apply.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to Workplace English Lab at contact@workplaceenglishlab.com.
