User Data Deletion

You can request deletion of personal information associated with your Clara account or with your interactions with Workplace English Lab. That includes:

• your Clara account, and the practice, progress, and saved material attached to it
• information received through our Instagram or Facebook integration — your account identifier, the comments and messages that reached our automation, the selections you made inside an automated conversation, and the related interaction metadata
• support correspondence you have had with us

Sign in, go to Settings → Delete your account, and confirm — it is deleted immediately, permanently, with no waiting period and no request queue. This removes your onboarding answers, personalized plan, lesson progress, coaching session history, and saved phrases.

Sign in to delete your account

This in-app option covers your Clara account only. For information received through our Instagram or Facebook integration, use the email request below.

For anything the in-app option does not cover — Instagram or Facebook integration data, or a Clara account you can no longer sign in to — send us an email:

1. Email Workplace English Lab support at contact@workplaceenglishlab.com.
2. Use the subject line “Data Deletion Request”.
3. Tell us which account the request is about — your Instagram or Facebook username, or the email address on your Clara account, or both if they are different.
4. We will verify the request where necessary, and then delete the eligible personal data held in systems under our control. We will confirm by email when it is done.

Email a deletion request

The in-app option needs no separate verification: you are already signed in, so deleting there is immediate. For an email request, we may need to confirm it comes from the person who owns the account — for example by asking you to send it from the email address on the account, or to reply from the Instagram or Facebook account named in it. This protects you from someone else deleting your data.

We act on verified email requests promptly and, where a legal deadline applies, within the period that law requires.

You can remove the Clara or Workplace English Lab integration from your Instagram or Facebook settings at any time. Doing so stops future access to your information through Meta’s platform.

It does not, on its own, constitute a deletion request, and it does not delete information we already received. To have that information deleted, send the email described above.

Deleting your Clara account removes your onboarding answers, plan, lesson progress, coaching session history, and saved phrases. One thing is deliberately kept, and it is not fully anonymized: if you made a purchase, the order record — order id, amount, and the email address the purchase was made with — is retained, so that a receipt request, refund, or payment dispute for that order can still be handled after the account it was tied to is gone. This is the normal way a payment/order record is kept, the same way a receipt is.

The order record is unlinked from your account and from any entitlement the moment you delete it, and is locked so it can never be used to restore access: signing up again with the same email does not, and will not, silently regrant what the deleted account had. It is kept only for as long as needed to resolve a dispute, refund, or accounting question about that specific order, and is never used to profile behavior or to keep providing the service to you.

Some other limited records may need to be kept for security, fraud prevention, or legal purposes — for example a security log kept to protect the service against abuse — only for as long as that purpose requires.

Comments, messages, and account information that remain on Instagram or Facebook are held by Meta on its own systems. That data is governed by Meta’s policies, not ours, and we cannot delete it for you. To remove it, use the tools and settings Meta provides in the Instagram and Facebook apps.
